The "Reorg" Meeting

A week or so into July the School Board convenes for its annual reorganization meeting, or "reorg." Haldane's Board of Education will meet on July 3 at 5:00 pm in the Mabel Merritt Building for this meeting, and elected and re-elected trustees will be sworn in to service for their stated terms. In addition, the Board elects its President and Vice President, appoints representatives to committees, and performs many other "housekeeping" duties, including adoption of the Code of Conduct.
The Code of Conduct Committee is a Board of Education Committee which meets periodically throughout the year to evaluate and rewrite the Code of Conduct to conform to new legislation and/or needs of the district. The Dignity for All Students Act, 2011 requires some updates to the Code of Conduct related to reporting, intervention and definitions with regard to bullying.
