Haldane's Board of Education will meet Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Merritt Building meeting room. This is the regular monthly business meeting, and the budget will be discussed at every meeting until the budget vote on May 21. The Governor's budget will affect decisions about spending in this budget creation process, and public input is encouraged.
Some good news from last night's Board meeting: Garrison Tree made an in-kind donation of $2500; and Putnam County Department of Health commended Cindy Miozzi for a fourth consecutive perfect inspection from a recent unannounced visit of the school cafeteria.
Sobering news about the budget--Haldane's state aid reimbursement is even lower than expected due to a dramatic decrease in our high tax aid. Discussion about where the budget cuts will occur take place at the next few BOE meetings.
